1. Ajmer Sharif Dargah
Ajmer Sharif Dargah, the tomb of Moinuddin Chishti is one of the
holiest places of worship in India not only for the Muslims but
followers of every faith. Being the final resting place of the Gharib Nawaz Moin-ud-din
Chishti, it has had an enormous contribution in spreading the ethical and spiritual
values of Islam amongst masses. A peculiar kind of fascinating aroma prevails in

The best time to visit Ajmer Sharif is from October to March. It
is the time when the famous Urs Fair is organised. The Dargah is adorned spectacularly

2. Adhai Din ka Jhopra
Adhai Din ka Jhopara is a Masjid built by Qutub-ud-Din-Aibak,
first Sultan of Delhi in AD 1199. Rumor has it that this Indo-Islamic architectural
site was constructed in two and a half days and that's where it
gets its name. Adhai Din ka Jhopra is a relic of an old mosque which was constructed
with remains of Hindu and Jain temples. Though most of the ancient temple is in
ruins today, the area of the mosque is still used as a place of worship. Complete
with arched screens, ruined minarets and distinct beautiful pillars it is an amazing
place to visit.

3. Ana Sagar Lake
This man-made lake was constructed between the years 1135 to 1150
AD. Ana Sagar Lake was built by Maharaja Anaji and was later modified
a lot to enhance the beauty of the lake. It is located very close to Daulat
Bagh. It was built by Emperor Jahangir and was later improvised by
Emperor Shah Jahan by adding 5 pavilions, called the Baradari. There is also a beautiful
small island in the middle of the lake, where one prefers going for a family outing.
Boat or water scooters can be hired to explore the place.

4. Akbar Palace and Museum
Akbar's palace, constructed in 1500AD as the place where he and his troops stayed
in at Ajmer, lies in the centre of the town and is a major tourist magnet.
It is well known for the museum which portrays the age old military weapons and
exquisite sculptures. The museum showcases various aspects of the Rajput and Mughal
style of living and fighting. The large black marble statue of Goddess Kali situated
in the palace is quite famous.
